In het schooljaar 2025-2026 organiseert het Kenniscentrum Hoogbegaafdheid weer international webinars. Tijdens die webinars is Engels de voertaal. Deze webinars zijn bedoeld voor educatieve professionals en zorg- en hulpverleners die beschikken over een brede kennisbasis met betrekking tot hoogbegaafdheid, maar niet over de mogelijkheid beschikken om deel te nemen aan internationale in-person activiteiten zoals grote internationale congressen. Op 14 april 2026 geeft Julia Roberts het webinar Acceleration.
Over het webinar
Acceleration moves learning ahead whether in terms of moving forward in placement in classes or in curriculum strategies for more complex learning opportunities. Acceleration is more than grade skipping. In fact, there are twenty-plus ways to accelerate students. This session will provide examples of various ways teachers accelerate learning for students in their classes so students can move along at a pace matched to their readiness to learn.
Over de spreker
Julia Link Roberts is the Mahurin Professor of Gifted Studies and the Executive Director of The Center for Gifted Studies and The Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky. She is an active advocate for gifted children at the state, national, and international levels. For her advocacy work, she received the very first David W. Belin Advocacy Award from the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) in 2001. Dr. Roberts is a leader in gifted education serving on the boards of the Kentucky Association for Gifted Education and The Association for the Gifted (a division of the Council for Exceptional Children); and she is past President of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children. She is chairperson of The Kentucky Advisory Counsel for Gifted Education.
